Nutrition of Amino Acids

William C. Rose (UIUC and later UC Berkeley?) made a lot of discoveries pertaining to the nuritive effects of AA's or lack of them. Was the first? to describe which AA's were and were not essential. Working on getting a comp. list of his papers - have a number saved on office PC.

The dog nutrion paper (Science, 1939) describes essential AA's and points to earlier papers.

The arginine deficeincy paper (Jrnl Biological Chemistry, 1930) describes even earlier research.
